Cosmos Club is a prestigious social club for individuals who have made significant contributions to science, literature, the arts, learned professions, or public service.

As part of a project to modernize the Club's digital presence, we embarked on an ambitious journey to re-platform an outdated website. The former site, while a repository of rich history, had become cumbersome and challenging for users to navigate, necessitating a comprehensive redesign to address both aesthetic and functional concerns.

In this project, I served as a UX Designer, working in tandem with our lead designer, Fernando Acevedo, and our UX writer, Emma Rizzo.

My responsibilities encompassed strategizing content with Emma to ensure clarity and coherence, and designing the UI systems to guarantee an intuitive and visually appealing user experience.

Improving Usability and Navigation

We broke down the previous website's overwhelming information and reorganized it into clear sections with prominent calls to action. By prioritizing key sections at the top and restructuring the content hierarchy, we made navigation intuitive and user-friendly.

A special mention goes to
Emma Rizzo, whose expertise in UX writing was instrumental in strategizing and refining the content

Seamless Experience Across Devices

Recognizing that the majority of users access the website via mobile devices, we crafted a responsive design to ensure a seamless experience across all platforms.

The previous mobile experience was cumbersome and challenging; our redesign addresses these issues, providing an intuitive and user-friendly interface on both desktop and mobile.

Visual Identity and Design System

Our visual identity for the Cosmos Club honors its rich heritage through a carefully chosen color palette of maroon, legal dye, vintage, and grullo, reflecting the Club’s historical and elegant character. To complement this, we selected Sorts Mill Goudy and Quattrocento typefaces, which exude timelessness and sophistication.

We also developed design system guidelines to ensure a cohesive and engaging user experience across all digital platforms.
